"Tim Smith; Barossa Valley red wines at their best"
Welcome to Tim Smith Wines!
The texture, complexity and delicacy of Tim Smith Wines is attributed to the consistently exceptional fruit which is sourced from individual pockets of the Barossa Valley’s oldest vineyards. These small-batch, handmade wines truly represent this world-class winemaking region.
We have two Eden Valley white wines; Eden Valley Riesling & Eden Valley Viognier. And we have the following Barossa Valley red wines; Barossa Shiraz (including a Barossa Reserve Shiraz), Barossa Mataro & Barossa Mataro Grenache Shiraz.
2013 Barossa Mataro.
Bandol in Provence, France, has long been a ‘go-to’ region of choice for Tim Smith and give inspiration for this wine.
Only a limited amount made this year due to the very low yielding vintage. 3 different vineyards made the cut; 2 from Greenock, and 1 from Light Pass. Vine age 50-114 years of age. The resultant wine is deceptively powerful and needs some air to really show its majesty. The palate is indicative of the vintage; structured and lithe-one for the cellar for sure.
Suggested food match; this wine is perfect with roast duck or pork belly with steamed Asian vegetables.
